This course aligns with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act No. 85 of 1993), the Construction Regulations 2014 (Regulation 8 – Work at Heights), and relevant SANS standards for fall protection equipment, ensuring compliance with South African safety legislation.

Falls are one of the leading causes of workplace injuries and fatalities. Our Fall Protection Training combines theory and practical exercises to ensure learners are fully competent and confident when working at heights.
1. Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
Identify types of fall hazards and assess associated risks
Develop and implement a site-specific fall protection plan
Select, inspect, and use appropriate fall protection equipment (PPE, harnesses, lanyards, guardrails)
Conduct thorough inspections of fall protection systems and equipment
Respond safely to fall incidents and emergencies
2. Practical Training
Hands-on sessions under a qualified assessor include:
Safe use of harnesses, lanyards, and anchor points
Installation and inspection of guardrails and fall arrest systems
Simulated rescue and emergency procedures
Working safely on ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms
3. Assessment & Certification
Learners are assessed through:
Written evaluation covering fall protection principles and regulations
Practical demonstrations of safe equipment use
Site-specific inspection exercises
Successful learners receive a Violet Horizon Accredited Certificate, valid for 2 years, demonstrating compliance with OHS Act, Construction Regulations, and SETA requirements.
