Walk Behind Machinery Training combines theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on experience to equip learners with safe operating skills.

1. Theory Training
Learners cover:

Machine components, functions, and operational principles
Pre-operational inspections and daily maintenance checks
Workplace safety procedures and hazard awareness
Operator responsibilities under the OHS Act and DMR 2015
Correct handling, storage, and transportation of machinery
2. Practical Training
Under supervision of a qualified and accredited assessor, learners practice:

Safe start-up, operation, and shutdown procedures
Maneuvering compactors, rollers, and concrete saws on different surfaces
Hazard identification and mitigation on worksites
Emergency procedures and accident prevention
3. Competency Assessment
Learners are evaluated through written and practical tests in accordance with SAQA Unit Standards relevant to walk-behind machinery operation.

4. Certification
Successful learners receive an accredited competency certificate, valid for two (2) years, issued according to SETA/SAQA requirements. Refresher training is required for renewal.
